i think i dug the song over all, but her vocal part was her screaming “why?” over and over… john plays guitar that song too.. pretty gnarly stuff. reminds me of pere ubu a bit.

the stuff im studying at the moment is for knowledge. KNOWLEDGE AND POWER.

you just gotta find the right way to map the learning to what you want to do. a lot of the time its based in a form that presumes you will be following a generic path in music (i.e. you are a composer learning to write in a classical style). so studying a text book as written will probably only distract you from your end goal.
a good way might be to find harmonic or melodic theory that makes sounds that you dig and then try and work it into a pop song…
